OUR RECENT NEWS

Dr. Marc Töteberg-Harms to join the Glaucoma Service in June 2024!

We are thrilled to have Dr. Marc Töteberg-Harms join our team. He came to Iowa from Augusta University and prior to that he was Glaucoma Service Director at the University Hospital Zurich. He completed his ophthalmology training in Germany and Switzerland with a glaucoma research fellowship at Mass Eye and Ear and a glaucoma fellowship at the University Hospital Zurich. Marc has an academic focus on conducting clinical research (especially with MIGs devices). Welcome to the team Marc!

GJA3 Genetic Variation and Autosomal Dominant Congenital Cataracts and Glaucoma Following Cataract Surgery. JAMA Ophthalmology, 2023; 141(9): 872-879.

Research lead by Dr. Boese assessed the family members in a 4-generation pedigree with congenital cataracts caused by a GJA3 variant who have a remarkably high incidence of glaucoma following cataract surgery in early childhood.
